This countryside residence near Kandy was commissioned by a professional couple relocating from Colombo who wanted to build on inherited land in the Kandy hill country. The brief was deliberately modest — a home that could be built by local contractors using straightforward materials and methods, but designed with enough spatial intelligence to feel special rather than ordinary. IMARK RENDER focused the design effort on the section: a single-storey plan that steps with the hillside, giving each room a framed view of the terraced landscape below.
