Proposed Residence, Cultural Capital

A proposed residence in Anuradhapura — the design responding to local cultural context, traditional spatial hierarchy and contemporary living expectations.

MAARAA Architects commissioned IMARK RENDER to visualize this residential proposal in Anuradhapura — the ancient capital of Sri Lanka and one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. The design carries a particular responsibility in this context: it must respect the character of a UNESCO World Heritage city while meeting the legitimate expectations of a modern family home. IMARK RENDER produced renders showing the building in relationship with its garden and street setting to demonstrate how the contemporary architecture sits within its historic environment.
